How AI is Transforming Photoshop:

One of my new favorite additions to Adobe Photoshop is the new AI Features. The capability of AI is on another level and is unmatched in today’s technologically advanced world. Editing anything in Photoshop or Lightroom with AI can make workflow faster, is much more efficient, and makes things that once seemed impossible, possible. In fact, I honestly don’t know how I ever edited without it! This is why it has inspired me to write this blog, How AI is Transforming Photoshop.

How AI is Transforming Photoshop and The Way Photographers Edit

Generative Fill: Creating the Impossible:

One of the most groundbreaking AI-powered features in Photoshop is Generative Fill. This is the tool that I use the most.  It allows users to add, remove, or extend elements in an image using text-based prompts. I use it for so many different features.  Whether you need to fill in missing parts of a background, put a new background in, or remove unwanted distractions, Generative Fill uses AI to create realistic results that blend perfectly with the existing image.

Neural Filters: Instant Enhancements:

Neural Filters harness AI to apply complex edits with a single click. These filters can add blur to your image, change facial features, move eyes in the image to a certain direction and so much more! I use smart filter, and Depth blur the most out of all of the Neural filters.

Select Subject and Object Selection: Precision at Your Fingertips:

Gone are the days of painstakingly outlining subjects manually. I use to have to take the lasso tool, and put a pin mark everywhere I wanted to select, and now you have the ability to isolate something so easily. All you need to do is hit what you would like to select, such as the subject, background or sky.  Then you can make the appropriate adjustments.

Sky Replacement: Transforming the Atmosphere:

The Sky Replacement tool uses AI to swap out dull or overexposed skies with vibrant, and beautiful alternatives.  Before, I would have to move a sky in, paint it on, and erase it where I would make mistakes.  Now all you have to do it go to Edit at the top of photoshop, and select sky replacement, and it will pop up a list of skies you can easily put in and allows you to make many different adjustments to that party of the picture only.

Super Resolution: Enhancing Image Quality:

Super Resolution is an AI-powered feature that allows users to upscale images without losing detail. You can increase your sharpness if you miss focus, and you can decrease your noise if you are in low light situations.  This is such a great tool for so many different things!  I use Topaz Labs as a plugin for photoshop to get the best image sharpness and noise reduction!

The Future of Photography and How AI is Transforming Photoshop

The Future of AI in Photoshop:

As AI continues to evolve, we can expect even more innovative tools that enhance efficiency and creativity for all photographers and creators. While AI can never fully replace the artistic vision of a photographer or designer, it serves as a powerful assistant, and help your vision come to life.

Whether you’re a professional photographer, a digital artist, or a hobbyist, embracing AI in Photoshop can open up new possibilities and streamline your workflow. The key is to watch tons of YouTube videos to learn all about the possibilities of AI.
